Mizmār & Zaffé
Loud, joyful and mobile. Zaffé is the traditional wedding procession, mizmār (double-reed horn) and tabl (drum) leading the celebration into the crowd. Camille brings the same roving energy to festival openings, parades and parties.
It is the most immediate music he makes, built to move people, literally.

Booking a zaffé
What is a zaffé?
The traditional Lebanese wedding procession: mizmār and drums lead the couple and their guests in, and the dabke follows. Camille brings the same energy to openings and parades.
How many musicians?
Two at minimum, mizmār and tabl. Add drummers or dabke dancers for a bigger entrance; the quote scales with the crew.
How long does it run?
A wedding entrance is a short, intense set built around your run sheet. Festival and street sets can run longer or repeat through the day. Send the schedule and the set is shaped to it.
Do you need power or a PA?
No. Everything is acoustic and mobile, indoors or out, up stairs and through doorways.
Where do you travel?
Based in Melbourne, playing across Victoria and interstate, and in Lebanon. Travel is quoted with the fee.
What does it cost?
It depends on the crew, the length and the travel. Send the date and location through the booking form and you will have a quote within a couple of days.
Several of these projects share the same core musicians, and Camille plays in all of them. For festivals and venues that makes it easy, and cost-effective, to book two or three of these ensembles for a single event or weekend: one travelling crew, several distinct shows.
